Mausoleum containing Tomb of Esther and Mardechai, Hamadan, Iran, Sasanian era, 5th century (1994). Iranian Jews and Iranian Christians believe it houses the remains of the biblical Queen Esther and her cousin Mordechai. According to Stuart Brown, the site is more probably the sepulcher of Shushandukht, the Jewish consort of the Sasanian king Yazdegerd I (399-420 AD).
