Paris Fashions for February, 1856. 'Robe of white moiré antique...Low corsage, à bretelles; short sleeves...closed by a wristband, whence comes a small lace flounce ruché. Coiffure as cache peigne...forming a bandeau upon the hair. Robe of white crape with seven bouillons of black crape, ornamented with small choux en violettes de Parme...The edge of the half-skirt is trimmed with three rows of white crisped silken fringe, No. 4. Corsage décolleté...The front of the corsage is formed of a square of white velvet epingle. Short sleeves bouillons trimmed with fringe...Head-dress: two ostrich feathers...Robe of tulle, with three flounces; the corsage en draperie. Head-dresses, of liserons bleus, and forming a kind of diadem upon the bandeau. Robe of black velvet...trimmed with a small black silken fringe.
