Robert Macaire M[archan]d de Bibles, 19th century. Argument between Robert Macaire, seller of bibles, and his partner in crime. Bertrand says that the subscribers claim the two of them are jokers, and they'll kick them out the door. Macaire responds that Bertrand should speak more decently about him or he'll chuck him out of the window...it's Bertrand's fault for speaking in a shocking way to the subscribers. Go back, and if they kick you out the door come back in through the window...but don't come back without the fees!...
