Salford Park, Aston, Birmingham, 2005. Anglers fishing at dusk at Aston Reservoir in Salford Park, with an elevated section of the Aston Expressway, part of the Gravelly Hill Interchange or Spaghetti Junction, silhouetted against the evening sky. Aston Reservoir is also known as Salford Lake, Salford Park Pool or Salford Bridge Reservoir. It was formed in the 19th century to supply drinking water to Birmingham. The lake was later used for boating and fishing. It is surrounded by Salford Park.
