Paris Fashions for October, 1854. 'White Crape and Blonde Bonnets, with pink feather-flowers underneath, which are very becoming to the complexion. Grenadine shawl, with Scotch border and fringe. Dress with large plain dark stripes - a pattern woven in the light stripe of the same colour, and composed of detached bouquets, or of a long wreath. The dark colours most worn are chestnut, which is very fashionable, as are also violet, green, and black'. From "Illustrated London News", 1854.
