'Bonnet of paille lustrée à bande, alternated with ribbons; bunch of flowers on each side; the rim trimmed with white lace, and the same flowers on the inside of the bonnet. Lie-down collar of Malines lace; frock of plain grenadine, with body à la vierge. Lace mantelet, with flounces mounted upon a lace-covered ribbon. The upper part of the mantelet is also ornamented with a flounce turned over, mounted in the same way, but upon narrower lace'. From "Illustrated London News", 1854.
