Artists' Models on the Steps of the Trinita de Monte - Rome, 1850. '...a sketch of characters peculiar to the streets of Rome, viz. artists' living models ready attired in some peculiar costume requisite for the painter or sculptor. They are chiefly to be seen waiting for hire on the lofty flight of steps ascending from the Piazza di Spagna to the Promenade on the Pincian Hill. On the left of the Illustration is a Bandit and Aged Man; in the centre, a Madonna, Infant, and St. John, with a "Gentle Shepherd" half reclining above them; and, on the right, other subjects dressed in character'.
