Hope Theatre, Rose Theatre and Globe Theatre, Southwark, London, c1647 (2016). Reconstruction drawing showing an oblique view of The Hope, The Rose and The Globe theatres in Southwark as they may have appeared in the mid-17th century, with a scene depicting 'beere bayting' in the corner and black lettering added to the image. All three theatres were closed in the mid-17th century but were important venues for late 16th and 17th century entertainment. This illustration is a digital copy of a watercolour painting, with black lettering added.
