The 'Marching Song of the First Arkansas Colored Regiment' was an American Civil War-era song with lyrics attributed to the regiment's white officer, Captain Lindley Miller. In the song, black soldiers fighting in the Union army brag that they will beat the Confederates, leaving behind "hoeing cotton" and "hoeing corn." The song is set to the tune of the Methodist hymn "Say, Brothers, Will You Meet Us." The lyrics were printed by the Supervisory Committee for Recruiting Colored Regiments.
