Armet à Rondelle, c. 1460 - 1475. The armet is a visored helmet with cheekpieces that fasten at the chin. The "rondelle" is the disc at the back of the neck. Its purpose was to protect the point where the two cheekpieces join at the back. This style of helmet was the typical headpiece of the fully armored equestrian knight throughout most of the 1400s.
