'The Duke of Cornwall and York's Colonial Tour, 1901: Departure of the 'Ophir' from Portsmouth, March 16', 1901. Ships are decorated with flags as crowds turn out to wave off the royal yacht HMS 'Ophir' as she leaves Portsmouth Harbour in Hampshire. The Duke of Cornwall and York (future King George V) and his wife Princess Victoria Mary of Teck (future Queen Mary) toured the British Empire, visiting Gibraltar, Malta, Port Said, Aden, Ceylon, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Mauritius, South Africa, Canada, and the Colony of Newfoundland.
