In North India, Nautch is one of several styles of popular dance, performed by girls known as Nautch girls; a simple and literal translation of Nautch is "dance" or "dancing"; Prince Aleksei Dmitrievich Saltykov/ A. Soltykoff (1806?1859) was a Russian artist and traveller in Persia and India; grandson of Prince Nikolay Saltykov.
