Convoy, Genicourt, northern France, 1916. A French Army re-supply convoy makes its way along the main road through the small Lorraine township of Genicourt-Sur-Meuse, on it's way to the front line at Verdun in the winter of 1916. The convoy consists of horse-drawn wagons bringing a variety of goods to the beleaguered French garrisons at the Verdun fortresses. A squadron of Chasseurs-au-Cheval (Light Cavalry) act as a cavalry screen for the convoy. Photograph from a series of glass plate stereoview images depicting scenes from World War I (1914-1918).
