The Order of the Guelphs'. The Royal Guelphic Order, also known as the Hanoverian Guelphic Order, was established in 1815 by the Prince Regent and future King George IV (1762-1830). The badge of the order is a gold Maltese cross with above a royal crown. The medallion in the centre features a monogram framed in a golden edge with inscription of the year the order was founded. On the reverse the effigy of a white horse boarded by the motto of the order 'NEC ASPERA TERRENT' (NOT AFRAID OF THE DIFFICULTIES).
