'Lars Pettersen on Snow Shoes', c1893-1896, (1897). Lars Pettersen (born in 1860) was a Norwegian explorer who took part to the three year expedition (1893-1896) aboard the 'Fram' led by Fridtjof Nansen. He was the second engineer of the Fram.
