Secondary concourse, Chicago Union Station, Illinois, 1926. View showing the entrance to the main waiting room. Chicago Union Station opened in 1925, replacing an earlier station built in 1881. It is the only intercity rail terminal in Chicago. The station buildings were designed by Daniel Burnham. Burnham died before construction work began and the project was completed by Graham, Anderson, Probst and White. From The Architectural Forum Volume XLIV [Rogers and Manson, New York, 1926]
