'Anecdotes of Painting in England', c1762, (1946). The First History of English Art published by the Strawberry Hill Press between 1762 and 1780. Horatio Walpole (1717-1797) modelled it on Giorgio Vasari's Lives of the Artists. It is one of the earliest examples of 'Private Press' books. From English Printed Books, by Francis Meynell.
