Carlton and Reform Clubs, 1875. The Carlton Club was founded in 1832 and until it was destroyed by a bomb in 1940 had premises next to the Reform Club on Pall Mall. The Reform Club was founded in 1836 by Edward Ellice the Elder (1783-1863). From The Life and Times of The Right Honourable The Marquis of Salisbury, K.G., published by J. S. Virtue & Co. Ltd., 1896.
