Detail of a limestone statue of a woman, about 2500 BC, from Tello (ancient Girsu), Southern Iraq, which was part of the Kingdom of Lagash. Her hair falls on her shoulders, and is held by a band around her head. The figure would be set up in a temple, to pray continuously for the lady. From the British Museum's collection.
