City Hall and Market House, Houston, Texas, USA, 1918. Vintage postcard showing the exterior of the Houston City Hall. The lower level houses a market. Vintage cars are parked on the street in front of the building. Houston's City Hall occupied this location from 1841. The building had to be rebuilt twice, in 1870 and again in 1901, after fires. The city's government moved to a new Art Deco building built in 1938-1939. The old City Hall and Market House were converted to a bus station but were demolished in 1960.
