Gateway to the Red Fort, Delhi, India, late 19th or early 20th century. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built the Red Fort as his palace when he moved his capital from Agra to Delhi in the mid 17th century. Its name is derived from the massive red sandstone walls that surround the palace.
