Margaret of Provence, queen consort of Louis IX of France, 13th century (1882-1884). Margaret (c1221-1295) married Louis IX in 1234 and bore him eleven children. She accompanied Louis on his first crusade, the Seventh, and negotiated his ransom after he was captured.
