Cotgrave Colliery, Nottinghamshire, 1963. Cotgrave Colliery opened in 1963 and was worked for only thirty years until is finaly closed in 1993. The pit had millions of tons of reserves but the coal was of poor quality. The shafts filled with concrete after closure.
