Lea Hall Colliery, Rugeley, Staffordshire, 1961. Lea Hall Colliery was sunk in 1954 and full production began in 1960. The mine was highly productive, producing in excess of a million tons of coal per year on several occasions but was closed by the National Coal Board in 1990.
