'The Political Pas de Deux', 1878 (1895). Lord Salisbury and Disraeli, both admitted to the Order of the Garter for their efforts at the Congress of Berlin, held to re-draw the map of the Balkans after the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878. Prime Minister Disraeli had made his acceptance of the honour conditional on Lord Salisbury, then Foreign Secretary, receiving it as well. From the finished pencil drawing for the Punch cartoon.
