'The Death of Bara', 1894. Joseph Bara (1780-1793) was a young French republican soldier at the time of the Revolution who was hailed as a hero by Robespierre after he was killed fighting against the royalist insurrection in the Vendee aged just thirteen. A print from the Le Petit Journal, 24th September 1894.
