Sir Edward Fry, Judge of the High Court of Justice, 1881. Fry (1827-1918) was made a High Court Judge in 1877. He served as Judge of the Court of Appeal between 1883 and 1892, and later gained a reputation for his skill in arbitrating international disputes at the Hague. From Men of Mark: a gallery of contemporary portraits of men distinguished in the Senate, the Church, in science, literature and art, the army, navy, law, medicine, etc. Photographed from life by Lock and Whitfield, with brief biographical notices by Thompson Cooper.
