Lionel Barrymore, American actor, 1934-1935. Lionel Barrymore was an actor of stage, radio and film. A versatile actor who played a wide range of characters, he won a Best Actor Oscar for his performance in A Free Soul (1931), although for many his best remembered role was as the miserly Mr Potter in Its a Wonderful Life (1946).
