Bronze foot warmer, Transitional period, China, 1620-1683. A foot warmer of tapering ogee square shape with two monster mask handles. The reticulated domed cover has a pair of birds in flight among flowering branches. The base has flowers and trees among rocks and fungus in low relief on a flower patterned diaper background. The base has a six character Xuande mark.
