Mirror black covered seal paste box, Qing dynasty, late Kangxi period, China, 1700-1722. Seal paste box and cover of compressed globular form. The exterior has a shiny opaque 'mirror black' glaze thinning to dark brown at the edges. The interior, base and edges have been left in white. There are some traces of gilding.
