Polychrome saucer with sage and attendant in a landscape, Zhengde period, Ming dynasty, China, 1506-1521. A polychrome saucer decorated in overglaze yellow, light green, aubergine and tomato red enamels. The decoration is of a sage and servant beneath a tree with rocks, grasses and insects in double ringed medallion surrounded by dots and cross-hatched border. The reverse has an interrupted lotus scroll in tomato red and green.
