Roman fortlet on Swarthy Hill near Maryport, Cumbria, 1996. The fortlet on Swarthy Hill, 4.5km north of Maryport, forms part of the Roman defence of the Cumbrian coast, a less formal extension of Hadrian's Wall. It is designated Milefortlet 21. The camera looks southwards across the grass covered ramparts of the fortlet.
