Although Jochen Mass drove in Formula 1 for nine seasons between 1973 and 1982, he is much better remembered for his exploits in sportscar racing, where he was considerably more successful. In the late 1970s and early 1980s he won several races in partnership with Jacky Ickx, and in 1989 Mass was one of the drivers of the Mercedes which won at Le Mans.
