1950 Allard J2 car. Sidney Allard competed in amateur trials before moving on to the international rally and racing scene. His first cars were handmade to individual designs, but in 1946 he began a company manufacturing specialist sports and touring cars. With no luggage space, and little weather protection, the J2 was primarily designed for participation in sporting events. Only 99 J2s were built, between 1950 and 1951. LLP 798 was an ex-works TT car raced by Allard himself. Originally built for experimental purposes, it had a 5.4 litre Cadillac engine. It was later fitted with a Mercury V-8 and Ardun ohv conversion.
