1936 Jaguar SS100. Under the leadership of founder William Lyons, Jaguar established its reputation of building sports cars in the mid 1930s. Its SS90 came out in 1935 with a 2.6 litre engine which was capable of 90 mph. It was soon replaced by the 125 hp 3.5 litre SS100, a true 100 mph sports car, which was designed by Lyons himself.
