Captain George Eyston's 'Thunderbolt' car, 1937. Eyston set three Land Speed Records in this car at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA, the fastest being 357.49 mph on 16th September, 1938.The record changed hands several times between Eyston and fellow Briton John Cobb in the late 1930s. Here the car is seen partially assembled, surrounded by mechanics and onlookers.
