Glass goblet, 14th century. Elegant glass goblet, found during excavations on the site of Winchester Palace, Southwark, which was the London residence of the bishops of Winchester during the Middle Ages. Table glassware of such quality was reserved exclusively for the rich; this goblet was probably imported from Italy or southern France.
