George William Frederick Charles, 2nd Duke of Cambridge, British soldier, c1855. A cousin of Queen Victoria, the Duke of Cambridge commanded a division in the Crimean War. He was Commander-in-Chief of the British Army from 1856-1895 and was made a Field Marshal in 1862. From a sheet music cover of The Soldier's Polka showing his hand resting on a map of the Crimea.
