Catherine of Aragon, first wife of Henry VIII, c1530, (early 20th century?). The daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, Catherine (1485-1536) married Henry (1491-1547) in 1509. Her failure to provide Henry with his cherished male heir prompted him to divorce Catherine in 1533 and sever the English church from Rome. Players cigarette card, possibly made in the early 20th century, after a portrait of 1530.
