Ishtar Gate, Babylonian, c575 BC. The Ishtar Gate, through which a processional road ran into the city of Babylon. One of 8 fortified gates of Nebuchandrezzar's (Nebuchanezzar II) city, it was decorated with dragons and young bulls in brick relief. The gate is in the Pergamon Museum, Berlin.
