World War I 100th Anniversary - Gallery

2018 sees the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I.

Lasting from 28th July 1914 to 11th November 1918, World War I saw over nine million combatants and seven million civilians die.

At 11am on the 11th November 1918, "the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month", a ceasefire came into effect that would end of one of deadliest conflicts in history.
