Tents pitched in the woods at Camp Gharreal, Murree, Punjab, 1870s. A servant sorts the mail in a tent in the left hand corner. Further along the path British soldiers are just visible in and around a second tent. Possibly a depiction of the British encampment, Battle of Charasiab, fought between British and Indian troops against Afghan regular forces and tribesmen on 9th October 1879 in the Second Afghan War.
