Miss Lucy Burns of C.U.W.S. - in Jail, 1917. American suffragist and women's rights advocate. Lucy Burns led the Congressional Union for Woman Suffrage (CUWS), was active in the National American Women Suffrage Association, and helped form the National Woman's Party. She was arrested in 1917 while picketing the White House and was sent to Occoquan Workhouse. (Colorised black and white print).
