Symington House, Deverell Street, Lawson Estate, Southwark, Greater London Authority, 1958. Builders working on the construction of Symington House. In the 1980s, the Greater London Council (GLC) offered Symington House to the private sector for just £1, but it still failed to sell. Though the GLC then modernised the building, in 2008 it was condemned by Southwark Borough Council. However, the booming London property market saved it from demolition.
