Mosaic portrait of a woman, Ancient Egyptian, Ptolemaic period, c250-200 BC. A mosaic from Thmuis in the Nile Delta once thought to be a personification of the city of Alexandria, with symbols of naval victory, but now considered a portrait of Queen Berenike II, wife of Ptolemy III Euergetes I (247-221 BC). Signed by Sophilos. From the Graeco-Roman Museum, Alexandria, Egypt.
