An engineer works on George Washington's head at Mount Rushmore, South Dekota. Sculptor Gutzon Borglum oversaw the carving of the colossal granite Mount Rushmore National Monument in the Black Hills of South Dakota between 1927 and 1941. As well as Washigton, the monument also features sculptures of Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt.
